Pearl SN1442D 42-strand Ultra Sound Snare Wire, D-type
Size Matters
Snare wire length is not a literal measure. Sizing is listed using the same industry standards as "drum size" & "head size".
EXAMPLE - a 14" wire mates with a 14" head, which mates with a 14" drum shell... none of which are literally, exactly 14".
Get the Sound And Response You Desire with Ultra Sound Wires from Pearl
Pearl’s Ultra-Sound snares feature patented Graduated Tension wires for extended dynamic range from ultra soft to ultra loud. Ultra-thin, low mass end plates assure ultra quick response. The end plates feature three mounting options: tunnels or holes for cord mounting and slots for straps. Straps and string are included.
What is the difference between C, I, and D series?
- The C shaped snares have looser wires in the center fro outstanding tracking and are ideal for rock music and metal snare drums.
- The D shaped snares have tighter tension in the center for superb sensitivity and are ideal for classical music and wood snares.
- The I shaped snares have traditional even-tensioned wires with the benefits of non-plated rust proof snares.
